Debt Solutions Team is a debt management company that was established to help consumers eliminate their overall financial debt through the process of creditor negotiations and settlement. Our purpose is to help clients become debt-free by designing a low monthly payment plan based on the individual’s financial needs and futuristic goals.

The company was founded by Jean-Samuel Merlain in the spring of 2001. After years of frustration of being in debt himself, Merlain concluded that the only way he was going to stop all the threats and harassment from creditors was to take charge of his own life. He taught himself about the laws and regulations of credit. After months of attending seminars, reading and researching the importance of attaining stable credit, Merlain landed a full time job as a credit consultant for a debt management company in his hometown (Boston, MA). He then applied his knowledge in a mission to help potential clients eliminate their debt. It was through this experience that Merlain came to realize the impact he had on individuals’ lives and on the community.

In the fall of 2003, Merlain sought out to do what he thought was owed to himself and to the community. He constructed a formula that would enable him to keep track of his income and expenses. At the same time, he drew out a project that he believed would help his friends and neighbors eliminate debt. The project included:

• empowering the community about attaining credit stability
• the importance of managing one’s own finances
• how to knock down and alleviate one’s credit burden

Merlain’s mission further matured after meeting a young man by the name of Jacob Paez. The two shared the same ideas and goals. Together, they built Debt Solutions Team. Today, the company strives to provide and aide clients with solutions to their burdening debts. While Paez focus on the Spanish-speaking community, Merlain continues his progress into mainstream America.

The Debt Solutions Team is dedicated to empowering and educating many communities by providing solutions to ‘break the chains of debt.
